Two Chilean aquaculture technology providers, Kran Nanobubble and Poseidón Ocean Systems Chile, have announced a strategic partnership focused on environmental and production management in Chile’s salmon farming sector.

The companies say they plan to collaborate on combining oxygenation systems with seabed maintenance services at active farming sites, which will involve bringing together water column support with ongoing management of seabed conditions throughout the production cycle.

Announcing the partnership via LinkedIn, Kran said this will support more integrated operations at farm sites and improve the use of logistical and operational resources. The company also claims the approach could improve response capacity and lower costs by an estimated 15% to 20%.

"This strategic alliance seeks to offer salmon producers a comprehensive and preventive model of environmental management that combines life support in the water column and maintenance of the seabed during the production cycle," Poseidon Ocean Systems said in its announcement, adding that both companies "seek to provide greater operational certainty in a context of growing regulatory and environmental demands for the industry."

The announcement comes in the same week as a separate technology partnership focused on Chile's salmon sector was launched, with Moleaer and Semarco joining forces on nannobubble technology and seabed remediation services.
