Aquaculture biotechnology company NaturalShrimp has signed, through its subsidiary NaturalShrimp USA Corporation, a one-year agreement with Homegrown Shrimp USA, Inc. (HGS) to purchase post-larvae ("PL") shrimp for stocking at the company's facilities in Webster City, Iowa, and La Coste, Texas. The agreement provides for the delivery of up to 2,000,000 PL per month for twelve months.
The project aims to develop its hatchery using broodstock incorporating Homegrown's genetic line, to guarantee its supply of fast-growing and high-quality PL. Therefore, they want to take the first steps in collaboration with Homegrown as well as with specialists in the industry.
HGS postlarvae are produced from genetically improved shrimp. Thus, HGS develops an indoor shrimp farm that raises shrimp using sustainable practices. These are the details that would have caught the attention of NaturalShrimp.
As explained by Gerald Easterling, CEO of NaturalShrimp, "without the PLs there are no shrimp to grow or sell. This agreement will solve one of the supply-chain issues we encountered previously where the lack of PLs significantly impacted our ability to produce the quantities of NaturalShrimp that our customers demand."
NaturalShrimp, Inc. is an aquaculture Company, headquartered in Dallas, with production facilities located in Texas and Iowa. Thus, the Company has developed the first commercially viable system for growing shrimp in enclosed, salt-water systems, using patented technology to produce fresh, never frozen, naturally grown shrimp, without the use of antibiotics or toxic chemicals.
HGS is an indoor shrimp farm that raises shrimp using sustainable practices. Through this hatchery, they seek to create the perfect environment for their shrimp to thrive, without being subject to unpredictable weather conditions and pollution that can affect traditional shrimp farming.
