Run again by Hatch Innovation Services in collaboration with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, the program this year seeks to support the internationalization of innovative aquaculture enterprises in New Zealand. The main objective is to provide them with business support and aquaculture market advice to succeed in global aquaculture markets.

Through the partnership, successful applicants to the program will have access to a range of resources, including mentoring. This will enable them to refine and expand their business value proposition on a global scale.

The procedure established is that the program will be conducted online for two months, with the support of industry experts who will assist the selected candidates. Although, some ideas are still being discussed. One of these would be to finish the program with a visit to the world's largest aquaculture trade fair, AquaNor. This would offer candidates the opportunity to engage directly with global aquaculture companies and organizations.

The initiative is a continuation of the 2022 pilot program. In that rehearsal, Hatch Innovation Services and NZTE helped SNAP IT, Boss Aqua, Cerebus Marine, and Waikaitu Ltd (four New Zealander aquaculture companies) to expand their commercial reach worldwide.

Therefore, as Tanja Hoel, the director of Hatch Innovation Services, explained New Zealand has an impressive track record. "In terms of producing tech and innovation in the wider marine sector, [there are] emerging companies."
