The Pacific Northwest of the USA has heavily engaged in seaweed farming. This type of aquaculture farming has growing benefits for the food and feed sectors, but also the cosmetic, pharmaceutical, and agriculture industries. This year, the organizers of Seagriculture Europe, successfully organized since 2012, have decided to launch the USA chapter. The nature and objectives of the conference remain the same. Seagriculture USA 2022 is organized by DLG Benelux. The event will take place on September 7th and 8th at The Westin Portland Harborview, in Portland, Maine. Maine's Department of Economic and Community Development, Technology Institute, International Trade Center, and North Atlantic Development Office are all sponsors of The Seagriculture Conference in the USA. Overall the event will be congregating speakers that are key players within the different Seaweed sectors. Sharing their expertise in new technologies and applications to optimize the sector. It will have a conference set up as well as an exhibition floor.
Aimed at the Aquaculture industry but especially seaweed producers, academics, providers, venture capitalists, and related industries' players.
The US conference, like its European counterpart, is an opportunity for organizations and companies in North America, and everyone involved in the seaweed industry. Expecting around 150-200 visitors and working as the vehicle of communication and networking that this growing sector is in dire need of. Allowing organizations and institutions to showcase and exhibit their research and achievements, as well as products and services to a broad range of stakeholders, decision-makers, and interested parties.
