We have all heard about Dolly the Sheep at some point in our lives. As a little girl, it was a story that captivated me for years, always dreaming of cloning my dog and having a forever companion. Dolly was born at the Roslin Institute, in Scottland.  The Roslin Institute is part of the University of Edinburgh. It is strategically funded by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council. We know animal sciences, genetics and innovation are essential to the Aquaculture Industry, which is why today we talk about the A3 Scotland. A 100% face-to-face conference.

A3 Scotland is a not-for-profit conference for the A3 sectors; Animal Health, Agritech and Aquaculture. The main objectives of the conference, especially this being their first edition, are innovation, investment, and collaboration. The Conference will take place at the John McIntyre Conference Centre, Edinburgh First within the capital city of Edinburgh on April 26th and 27th. "Transition to Net Zero" is its central topic and conference theme. Hence, the triple-A sectors will be able to showcase to the rest of the world the true meaning of Scottishness and coming together. In the words of one of the event's organizers John Mackenzie, CEO of Roslin Innovation Centre: "We can do this for the planet and society, but we can't do it alone. We hope to show the world the importance of our A3 joint efforts".

Who is Making this Possible

The A3 Scotland conference is happening thanks to the collaboration of stakeholders and interested parties of the triple-A sectors. To offer a voice for the sectors and showcase them to themselves and the rest of the world. This event has become possible thanks to the participation and collaboration of over 24 Scottish organizations, institutes, and businesses, their networks, and connections. As well as the involvement of 17 sponsors. Therefore, the horizon looks positive for all the advancements and knowledge that will be shared in the two-day conference. Visitors

Receiving organizations, investors, scientists, and governments, there is room for 330 delegate visitors to the conference. The 1st day's Gala Dinner will have space for 220 delegates. Which will certainly be offering a great opportunity for attendees to network, and participate in informative sessions and panel discussions.

Before and after the conference, organizers are having different site tours at some of the world-class research facilities and expertise located in the Central and Highlands of Scotland. They expect an average of 20-25 people per tour. Some of the destinations will be vertical farms in Dundee and research farms in Oban. The Sustainable Aquaculture Innovation Center, in Stirling, is also a destination. And of course, the birthplace of Dolly, at the University of Edinburgh's Easter Bush Campus.
