The organizers of the Seagriculture conferences have formally announced the first speaker-line up and exclusive site visit for the forthcoming Seagriculture Asia-Pacific 2025, taking place from 18-20 March next year in Adelaide, Australia.

Under the theme "Future-Proofing the Seaweed Industry", the conference will gather top global experts to explore the future of the seaweed industry, with around 300 delegates from across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.

The conference organizers have confirmed the event will be headlined by internationally acclaimed scientist, explorer and conservationist Professor Tim Flannery, a renowned environmental advocate, former Australian of the Year, and Councillor at the Climate Council.

Joining him will be a lineup of influential speakers, including Steve Meller, CEO & Co-Founder of CH4 Global; Professor Emeritus Rocky de Nys, Chief Scientific Officer at Sea Forest; and Nick Hill, Co-Founder of The Earthshot Prize, the global environmental initiative spearheaded by the UK's Prince William.

Other notable speakers include Jo Kelly, Founder and CEO of the Australian Seaweed Institute, known for pioneering the use of seaweed to improve reef health, and Heidi Alleway, Senior Aquaculture Scientist at The Nature Conservancy, who will speak on regenerative aquaculture and sustainable aquatic food systems.

In addition to the conference sessions, attendees will have the unique opportunity to participate in an exclusive site visit on March 18 to the picturesque Fleurieu Peninsula and the South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI), where they can see cutting-edge seaweed research and sustainable aquaculture in action.
