The North Atlantic Seafood Forum (NASF) has kicked off this morning, marking the twentieth edition of the annual seafood industry event.

According to the event organisers, over 900 CEOs, experts, investors and analysts are participating this year, meeting in Bergen, Norway for the three-day conference.

"The goal is to keep the top tiers of the seafood industry updated on markets, technology, sustainability and industry challenges," the NASF states on its website, adding, "We strive at being the best networking event in the seafood industry".

The agenda for the first day focuses on technology, featuring over 50 different companies, research institutions and technology providers, who will present their solutions and services.

Today also marks the NASF's first "European Pelagic Tuesday", with pelagic industry specialists due to "discuss quotas for mackerel and blue whiting, the market for pelagic species, demand and supply", including a panel debate looking at the future of the sector.

Day 2 of the conference is billed "Business Wednesday", covering strategy, species, markets and sustainability. The third and final day of the conference is dedicated to investments, bringing together investors and industry professionals through dedicated investor sessions, which NASF claims is "one of the most important meeting places" for the seafood industry and international seafood investors.
