The second edition of the International Aquaculture Industry Fair, AquaFuture Spain, will take place from March 28th to 30th, where 160 companies from 24 countries will share their knowledge and know-how in aquaculture.
This event, which has grown this year, in the words of its director, Juan Lijo, wants to reach its main objective: to consolidate AquaFuture as an outstanding event in the international calendar. He is doing it step by step.
The participation in this second edition of all the actors of aquaculture in Spain has increased. By 2023 are including participants from research centers, institutions and associations as well as producers. Moreover, the incorporation of Spanish industry is not the only achievement, also it is a major number of members from the international sector, an increase of 35% of the total.
One of the attractions in this event is the technical conferences. This edition will focus on key aspects for the sustainability and growth of the aquaculture sector.
Yolanda Morales, from Cluster Acuiplus, a collaborating entity of the event, said "every year we intend to discuss, deepen and reflect with experts, jointly, assessing where we are and where we are going in the sector". She also highlighted some issues to be discussed as the field of plastics and their regulations, animal welfare and other markets such as the Chilean and Moroccan ones to be explored.
This year will also incorporate the participation of the Spanish Aquaculture Business Association (Apromar), which will talk about the circular economy.
The organization is also continuing to finalize the Show Cooking program. That one will allow visitors to discover and taste delicious dishes made with aquaculture products, such as clams or mussels.
