A fire broke out at an Icelandic construction site owned by Arctic Fish at 9.30am this morning, the company announced today. The site is part of Arctic Smolt, the smolt production company owned by Arctic Fish Holding AS (Arctic Fish).

All staff of both Arctic Smolt and its contractors have been accounted for. However, three of the contractor's employees required medical attention for minor injuries. The fire has reportedly now been extinguished.

The impact on progress of the affected construction progress is not yet known, but the company has said it is likely that the progress and construction plans will be impacted by the incident. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.

The incident is not expected to impact Arctic Smolt's production plans and smolt production targets of 2023 and 2024. Other existing buildings have not been affected by the fire, and the company points out that the construction site is insured against fire damage.

Arctic Fish and Arctic Smolt say they will provide additional updates as more information becomes available.
