Salmon Evolution on track for phase 2 at Indre Harøy

Salmon Evolution announced the signature of contracts with Artec Aqua and HENT for phase 2 at Indre Harøy. This takes the company a further step towards adding more tons to its annual production.

The company has already begun preliminary work on phase 2 of the project. Thus, the work will be extended in parallel with the design phase, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.

"We have now been producing salmon for almost 15 months at Indre Harøy and are already on our 6th generation. Throughout this period we have seen very strong biological performance, and although we have also had challenges, we have demonstrated that we are capable of effectively handling demanding situations," said Trond Håkon Schaug-Pettersen, Salmon Evolution CEO.

This project is divided into two parties. On the one hand, HENT will assume responsibility for the civil design and construction. On the other hand, Artec Aqua will be the company responsible for the design, construction, and commissioning part of the process plant.

A solid choice in terms of quality and experience

Salmon Evolution's decision in both companies is based on their experience and business quality. HENT is one of Norway's largest general contractors, with more than 40 years of experience in different types of projects. Artec Aqua is a leading supplier of land-based aquaculture and was a turnkey supplier for phase 1 of Indre Harøy.

"We are confident that this structure will deliver the best of both worlds. They are leading experts for both the civil construction and the processing facility which we expect will ensure delivery on quality, time, and cost," said the CEO.

As for the total cost of the project, it is currently around NOK 1.6 to 1.7 billion, and it is expected that once completed, phase 2 will add another 7900 tons of HOG of annual production, bringing the total planned production volume to 15,800 tons of HOG per year.
