Andfjord Salmon and Cflow, a fish-handling technology provider, have announced their strategic partnership to take the land-based aquaculture facility in Andøya to the next level.

This strategic partnership aims to establish controlled and predictable production processes, as stated by Martin Rasmussen, CEO of Andfjord Salmon. "Through this collaboration, we will merge our expertise in land-based aquaculture with Cflow's technology, enabling safe and sustainable production processes."

"Technology plays a vital role in the modernization of aquaculture," he said. "Having control over factors influencing fish welfare and the environment leads to optimized operations, energy efficiency, and predictable production."

Through this shared mission, both companies are joining forces in control, sustainability, and biosafety, which, as they said, will shape aquaculture's future.

Gunnar Hoff, CMO of Cflow, further elaborated that this partnership empowers Cflow to apply its unique competence solution portfolio. "Land-based aquaculture offers unparalleled advantages by allowing comprehensive control and monitoring of factors affecting fish welfare, biosecurity, and byproduct management. Through the collection of historical data, in-depth analyses, and harnessing our interdisciplinary expertise, we will ensure safe project implementation and predictable production processes."

Andfjord Salmon moving forward to expansion

This follows the success of the Kvalnes project, which has had impressive statistics. With exceptional biological conditions, fish health and welfare, robust growth, and industry-leading salmon survival rates, the project will produce some 700 tons of salmon in its pilot phase.

Therefore, the objective of expanding the Andøya sites and proceeding with the next phase in Kvalnes is to achieve a production capacity of 90,000 tons.
