ABANCA and APROMAR renew agreement for sustainable aquaculture promotion in Spain

Yesterday, ABANCA and APROMAR established the groundwork for their collaborative strategy to promote aquaculture in Spain. Consequently, the financial institution and the association have renewed their sector-specific collaboration agreement, focusing on the sustainable promotion of aquaculture.

After the signing of the text in Vigo with the participation of the director of ABANCA Mar, Javier Fraga, and the managing director of APROMAR, Javier Ojeda, would be an informal meeting where the current situation of the industry was talked.

Therefore, ABANCA has designed tailored options for the needs of these professionals, placing value on the experience and proximity of its specialized unit ABANCA Mar, a branch of the bank that has been active since 2016 as a specialized unit in the field.

Thus, in the agreement, the bank reinforces its catalog of products and services designed to adapt to the needs of the companies integrated into APROMAR. In addition, and specifically environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, and the promotion of sustainable aquaculture are some of the objectives pursued by this new adapted financing.

As a result, Spain will receive a significant boost for the development of one of its key sectors in the national economy, also aligning with the global plan set by FAO.

A wide range of customized solutions

The agreement encompasses various measures, including access to targeted credit policies and personal loans. The specific credit policy offers highly competitive interest rates, while the personal loans are interest-free and commission-free. Moreover, these loans provide options for tax deferrals, leasing, guarantees, and trade discounts.

The company's main lines of business also involve tailor-made financing. This includes ship mortgages and fixed-rate loans, which offer long repayment terms, the possibility of grace periods, and very competitive interest rates. Additionally, the company provides various alternatives for official credit, specifically enabling the advancement of subsidies from the European Maritime Fund for Fisheries and Aquaculture (FEMPA).
