Lars Eirik Hestnes will be the new operations manager at Frøy. After almost five years as the head of the team, Anders Gåsø said goodbye to the company, saying thank you and looking forward to new challenges.

Hestnes has a long history in the aquaculture industry. His work experience includes companies such as Marine Harvest (Mowi) and HSE. At Mowi, he spent 18 years as operations manager and the last few years as quality manager, while at HSE, he was an employee representative on the group's board of directors. Immediately before his position at Frøy, he was a quality manager at Berge Rederi AS.

Regarding this new position at Frøy, he explained that "it was a challenge I could not refuse." And that he regarded this challenge as a great opportunity. "Frøy is on an exciting journey, something I have observed from the outside. As operations manager in the early 1990s, I was visited by a ship from Surnadal Sjøservice. This was the only ship from this company and the start of the Frøy we see today. It has been a fantastic development ever since. Now, I'm very lucky to be able to take part in this voyage."

Time to say goodbye

The company's welcome also included a farewell from Gåsø, who pointed out the capabilities of his replacement and believed in them. "I am happy to have found a good replacement within the system," he explained.

Furthermore, Gåsø also expressed his gratitude to the company for what a wonderful experience it has been. "I have had an amazing few years here, and a lot has happened. Sometimes, life is made up of crossroads. When the ownership situation became clear before the summer, it was a crossroads for me. I then decided to inform the management that, when the time came, I wanted to leave my job at Frøy. Now that Lars Eirik is in office, it is the right time to hand over the helm to new forces."
