Chinese company launches salmon offshore deepwater cage project

On January 16, Shandong Wanzefeng Marine Technology Co. launched the Caijin Offshore Granary No. 1 series of cages, a salmon offshore deepwater cage project.

The project, located in Rizhao will include 6 giant cages like this, with a total investment of almost €40 million (300 million yuan). The Chinese company confirmed in a press release that the production estimated is more than 6,000 tons of salmon annually, with economic benefits exceeding €75 million (600 million yuan). 

The aim is to "create a whole salmon industry chain worth hundreds of billions. Now, Rizhao is plowing the sea, animal husbandry and fishing towards the blue sky, striving to open up the mountain and sea journey of salmon industry development, and writing a new answer sheet for sea granary."
