De Heus Animal Nutrition organized an opening ceremony to present officially its new shrimp feed mill in Co Chien Industrial Zone, Vinh Long province, Vietnam. The facility, which occupies an area of 29,300 square meters, has an annual capacity of 50,000 metric tons.
Through a statement published on its website, the company has indicated it will feature five production lines exclusively dedicated to shrimp feed products.
Also, De Heus has confirmed that the entire production process is consolidated under international quality standards such as ISO 22000, BAP, and GLOBAL G.A.P.
During the event, H.E. Daniel Stork, Consul General of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City, said: "This shrimp feed factory is not just a building; it's a significant boost for the local economy and the aquaculture industry here."
"By providing top-notch feed products, it's going to help shrimp farmers, improve yields, and ensure food security for the community. It's a big step forward for sustainable development and economic growth in Vinh Long and beyond," he added.
Regarding the sustainable aspect, the CEO of Royal De Heus Group, Mr. Co de Heus, stated: "We acknowledge challenges like climate change and disease outbreaks. Therefore, we are committed to sustainable practices and environmental protection through innovative technologies for the future of Vietnamese shrimp aquaculture."
Finally, Mr. Johan van den Ban, General Director of De Heus Vietnam, recalled the country's potential for future investments: "With this investment, we are again showing the aquaculture market in general and the shrimp industry specifically that we are here to stay.
