FlipFarm presents new oyster farming systems to assist local farmers

FlipFarm has presented its Sorter and Rigid Mesh Seed Inserts semi-automated oyster farming systems at the Oyster South Industry Symposium, held from February 29th to March 2nd, in New Orleans.

These products allow farmers to deploy, harvest, air-dry, and sort oysters reducing the need for physically manual work. In addition, FlipFarm "hopes to contribute to the revitalization of the region's crucial industry by empowering local farmers with the tools they need to thrive."

First, with the Sorter farmers can sort and repack oysters for deployment and at the same time feed directly from FlipFarm baskets. The storage will be around 1.5 million oysters per hour.

On the other hand, the Rigid Mesh Seed Inserts work with a seed movement function that helps for faster growth, fewer doubles, and well-shaped oysters. Also, it eliminates the need for Floating Upweller System (FLUPSY), which will result in cost savings and simplified management.

Aaron Pannell, inventor and owner of FlipFarm, indicated what for him is the best advantage of these new products: "By significantly reducing labor and enhancing operational efficiency, we are not just offering tools but a new way forward for painless and profitable oyster farming."
