Alsaker Fjordbruk, a Norwegian company primarily engaged in aquaculture, particularly salmon farming, has acquired Ryfish, as both parties announced in a press release during the Seafood Expo Global in Barcelona.

Upon assuming the aquaculture operations of Ryfish, a company also based in Norway and related to the technology company Fishglobe Technologies, it is establishing a new demonstration center at the entrance of the Lysefjord.

At this center, closed FishGLOBE technology will be used for post-smolt production, consisting of a large floating, enclosed "globe" where fish (such as salmon) are raised instead of using traditional open net pens.

In 2025, the Bluegreen Group confirmed the successful launch of two "next-generation" FishGlobe fish farming facilities, FishGlobe 3.5K and FishGlobe 10K, from its construction site at Frier Vest. Also, Fishglobe signed contracts with Nova Sea to help build the largest variant of its closed farming system, the FishGLOBE 30K.

"Alsaker Fjordbruk is a player with strong production experience and a clear focus on quality and fish welfare. For us, it is an ideal partner to demonstrate how FishGLOBE works in practice, both in production and in interaction with customers and visitors," said executive representative associated with Fishglobe, Steffen Klemetsen Jakobsen.

Furthermore, Alsaker AS announced that it has signed a binding agreement to acquire 100% of Bolaks Group AS, in a deal that will create the largest privately owned aquaculture company in Western Norway.
