Australian tech-and-energy firm to acquire Imenco Aqua

The Australian company, primarily focused on investments and acquisitions in the technology and energy sectors, Advanced Innergy Holdings Limited, has signed a binding share purchase agreement to acquire Imenco Aqua AS for AUD 20.7 million (approximately USD 13.5 million).

Imenco Aqua AS is a Norwegian company specializing in aquaculture technology, developing monitoring systems, automated feeding solutions, and farming equipment. In 2023, it acquired  Vard Aqua (formerly Storvik Aqua), which had supplied aquaculture equipment since 1985, with offices in Norway, Chile, and Scotland.

A few months later, the Norwegian company acquired ESTRO, which secured significant expertise in fish welfare and product development. As part of this expansion, IMENCO also established a separate office in Bergen.

In summary, the company operates in five main sectors: offshore oil and gas, offshore renewables, aquaculture, marine and naval, and industrial. It holds a leading position in subsea camera, lighting, laser, and electronics technologies, underwater corrosion protection retrofit systems, aquaculture camera solutions, visual surveillance CCTV, and underwater acoustic communication and positioning systems.

According to a statement, Advanced Innergy Holdings Limited will pay a cash consideration and an additional contingent (earnout) payment of AUD 3 million in cash. As part of this consideration, AUD 3 million will be allocated to the common equity of Imenco Aqua AS. The transaction is expected to be completed between March 21 and March 31, 2026.
