Wildtype, San Francisco-based cell-cultured salmon producer, recently closed a €88 million ($100M) Series B round of investment. Personalities such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert Downey Jr.,  Jeff Bezos and Blake Griffin wanted to be part of this agreement.

Also, has been supported by ExpeditionsTemasekS2G Ventures Oceans and Seafood FundRobert Downey Jr.’s FootPrint CoalitionCargill, and prominent chefs from around the world. Existing investors, including Spark CapitalCRVMavenAiiM, and Root Ventures, also continued their support for Wildtype.

Contributions come from environmental activists, scientists, health proponents, acclaimed artists, professional athletes, and institutional investors. This looks for building a larger production facility, and investing in technologies that will improve production and lower the cost to their customers.

Wildtype will surely transform our food system with its incredible salmon”, actor Leonardo DiCaprio stated.
