Måsøval's Board of Directors announced today, Monday, October 31, 2022, the hiring of Helge Kvalvik as the new CEO. Kvalvik comes from the position of CEO of Boa Offshore AS and will start in the new seat in January 2023. His appointment will mean that the resignation of his predecessor, Asle Rønning, announced last June, will finally be effective.
Helge Kvalvik, 46, lives in Trondheim and holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from NTNU in marine engineering and a master's degree in finance from NHH. Måsøval's next CEO has extensive Norwegian and international business experience and, as mentioned, currently holds the position of managing director at Boa Offshore AS. In the company's statement announcing his hiring, he has expressed his satisfaction with the new phase that lies ahead of him.
"I thank the Board for the trust and look forward to working together with the organization, the partners, and the Board to further develop the company. Måsøval AS is an impressive company that has the history, experience, and culture to exploit the many opportunities ahead. The company has great potential", he stated.
"The Board is pleased that Helge has accepted the task of leading Måsøval further. His experience and leadership background will be of great use to Måsøval in an exciting phase. I look forward to working with Helge in the development of Måsøval", said Lars Måsøval, chairman of the Board in the Froya, Norway-based family-owned company.
On June 6, Kvalvik's predecessor, Asle Rønning, informed the company's board of directors that he wished to step down after ten years, the last seven as CEO. However, Rønning added that he would remain available to the company until a new CEO was appointed, at which time he would assume his new position as CEO of Måsøval's majority shareholder, Måsøval Eiendom AS.
Located in central Norway, in the region west of Trondheim, Måsøval AS is an integrated producer of Atlantic salmon with more than 50 years of operational experience. The company has significant sea farming operations and its own smolt production. Moreover, through its majority shareholding in the processing and distribution company Pure Norwegian Seafood AS, Måsøval processes and exports high-quality Atlantic salmon to a global market.
