Innovasea, one of the reference companies in technology solutions for aquaculture and fish monitoring, has acquired Aquanetix, an aquaculture software company based in the UK. Terms of the deal were not disclosed; however, the company explained that it was moving to Greece.

"Acquiring a company of Aquanetix's caliber presents an exciting opportunity for us," said Innovasea CEO David Kelly. Thus, this Aquanetix cloud-based aquaculture management software becomes part of the company, providing customers with detailed information on farm operations.

This will give Innovasea a new impetus for its real-time aquaculture intelligence solutions. Kelly explained, "We'll be rounding out our precision aquaculture platform and further helping our customers make data-driven decisions to improve operations." A formula that will make Innovasea operate efficiently and cost-effectively.

Innovasea's entry into Greece is its second major expansion in the last three years. Kelly explained that their presence in Greece would help it execute its growth strategy in the Mediterranean and the Middle East markets while providing better service to its customers. "Those regions have demonstrated a strong appetite for aquaculture and really seem to recognize the potential of fish farming."

A used and reliable technology

Aquanetix farm management software is really popular. More than 200 farms in 31 countries have it, and it performs with more than 30 fish and shrimp species. By offering it together with Realfish Pro, Innovasea now, has a complete set of precision aquaculture tools that can handle all aspects of running a fish farm.

Aquanetix co-founder and CEO Diogo Thomaz and his team have been hired by Innovasea. Furthermore, the company will hire additional staff for the new office in Corinth, Greece.

"We're thrilled to become part of the Innovasea family and add our farm management software to its strong portfolio of egg-to-harvest aquaculture solutions," said Thomaz. "This is a wonderful opportunity for us to make additional investments into our business to enhance our existing tools and better serve our customers."
