VARD
The Norwegian international shipbuilding group VARD has contracted TMC Compressors to supply its marine compressed air systems for a stern trawler being built for the Norwegian fishing company Havbryn AS.
TMC's Smart Air compressors offer up to 40% energy savings compared to conventional compressors, as they allow precise control of the electric motor speed. The system will include control and service air compressors plus air dryers.
In addition, the VARD 8 02 stern trawler features an efficient fuel economy and is designed for semi-pelagic and bottom-trawling operations that respect fish health and the environment.
"We understand that VARD will outfit the trawler with its with highly efficient energy storage system, energy management system and an innovative heat recovery system that all contribute towards minimised fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions," assured TMC's Director of Sales and Business Development Hans Petter Tanum.
"We have delivered our Smart Air compressors to vessels of the VARD 8 02 design in the past, so we are familiar with the vessel design and VARD’s work methodology and quality requirements," he added.
Also, VARD designs and built highly advanced trawlers for Nergård Havfiske and usually, Hydroniq Coolers supplies the marine cooling system to its vessels.
