The Spanish shipping company Trasmed, specializing in the ferry and maritime transport sector, will use Satlink technology to install antennas across its entire fleet.

In this way, all passengers, typically 800 on a single ferry, will have access to high-speed broadband connectivity with low latency to access data, entertainment platforms, and real-time video.

Additionally, the technology company will provide continuous management and support for connectivity services, thanks to its experience in satellite solutions development and implementation for the maritime sector, including civil sectors like fishing and transport.

This 24/7 support, as they call it, offers cost savings to clients by providing remote access to maintenance services, support, and system updates via satellite connectivity.

In October 2024, the Government of the Balearic Islands, Spain renewed its contract with Satlink to continue using its monitoring and localization systems (VMS) across its artisanal fishing fleet, which consists of 260 vessels.
