Sonny Francisco, new Kivu Choice Director of Aquaculture
Rwanda tilapia farmer Kivu Choice has welcomed Sonny Francisco as its new Director of Aquaculture. Francisco was the Farming Manager of Regal Springs Indonesia, a producer of sustainably farmed tilapia.
"He now joins us in Rwanda to help us take Kivu Choice to the next level," Kivi Choice Founder & CEO Kamran Heinrich Ahmad published in his LinkedIn profile.
Kivu Choice is the sister company to Victory Farms, the largest aquaculture platform in East Africa, based in Kenya.
In 2021, they launched the Rwandan business in Q4 of 2021 and have built a vertically integrated aquaculture company with associated hatchery, cage production, distribution, and sales operations.
Over the next 5 years, they plan "to scale to become the largest and most sustainable protein producer in the country, producing and distributing over 50 million fish meals per year across Rwanda, DRC, and Burundi."
