Robin Pearl resigned in mid-November after a disagreement with a group of shareholders but has decided to confirm it now to make clear he has nothing to do with the current decisions in AMI.
The family-owned company intends to use the facilities to produce large smolts for stocking its existing ocean salmon farming sites in Atlantic Canada.
