The proposed deal gives SalMar control of the Frøya-based salmon farmer, soon after the Witzøe family’s investment company became Måsøval’s second-largest shareholder.
The NOK 60 million deal comes shortly after Måsøval, PNS and minority shareholders reached a confidential settlement resolving separate disputes between the parties.
While the Måsøval family considers a possible sale, Kverva, the Witzøe family's investment company, has bought 8.7% of the shares from another shareholder.
The Norwegian salmon farming firm, which is majority-owned by the founding Måsøval family through their investment firm Heimstø, may soon be looking for a new owner.
