Icelandic seafood data company Oceans of Data has announced a new partnership with Arnarlax, Iceland's leading salmon farming company, which is owned by Norway's SalMar.
The collaboration aims to provide Arnarlax with advanced data solutions to optimize operations and ensure sustainable growth in the salmon farming industry, Oceans of Data said in a press release.
"By leveraging advanced datasets, Arnarlax can precisely plan harvests, maximize sales opportunities, and uphold their commitment to sustainable practices," Oceans of Data stated.
"By monitoring various data points, including global supply updates, they can track salmon growth and health more effectively, helping them understand the optimal harvest and production times. Although some advanced predictive features are still in development, they promise to enable real-time adjustments based on current conditions. Integrating environmental data further refines harvest planning, helping to reduce risks and ensure sustainability," it continued.
The data specialist said it will also support Arnalax in analysing salmon exports, spot prices, and Nasdaq data, in order to "strengthen their market strategy and optimize their sales operations".
Oceans of Data said it would also be providing a new "Gen AI data solution" dubbed "ANNA", which will integrate and analyse datasets on biomass, harvest, production, exports, prices, and environmental factors.
"ANNA enables the Arnarlax team to effortlessly access and interpret data, supporting their decision-making processes. Real-time insights into key performance indicators empower quick, informed decisions, optimizing operations for efficiency and effectiveness," the company said, adding that the system can also support Arnarlax's communications with business partners.
"By providing comprehensive, up-to-date data, transparency is improved, with regular market insights on the latest trends, opportunities, and potential threats. This shift from limited datasets to a full market picture, including predictive metrics, supports trust in partnerships and social acceptance, promoting strategic planning and negotiations," Ocean of Data claims.
"ANNA is capable of calculating, reading, writing, and drawing, and will soon handle estimates and predictions. Regular updates and ongoing support will ensure ANNA evolves with Arnarlax’s needs, incorporating new data sources and improved analytics capabilities," the Icelandic data specialist added.
