Vitapro will invest around €72 million ($80 million) to build a new shrimp feed production plant in Ecuador. This is a consequence of the country's shrimp exports increase.

For more than 35 years, Vitapro-owned shrimp feed producer, Nicovita, has developed sustainable nutritional solutions for aquaculture in Ecuador and other countries. The move will boost Nicovita's production capacity by more than 45 percent.

Last year, the South America-based feed producer announced it would separately invest €29 million ($35 million) to expand capacity at its plants in Ecuador and Peru.
