The cost of salmon for Grieg Seafood in the first quarter was 4.4€/Kg

The cost of salmon for Grieg Seafood has been €4.4 per kilo during the first quarter. The company will submit its full quarterly report on the 13th of May. The figures were released in a trading update on Friday morning.

So, Grieg Seafood reported production of 16,900 tonnes of salmon in the first quarter of the year. This was distributed with 9,600 tonnes in Rogaland, western Norway, 5,200 tonnes in Finnmark, northern Norway, and 2,100 tonnes in British Columbia, Canada.

According to Akvafakta, an industry statistics provider, the average spot price for salmon was €8.26 (NOK 79) in the first quarter of the year. The first salmon produced in April cost around €10.45 (NOK 100) on average.

About this, Grieg Seafood confirmed last month they are months away from transferring its first salmon to sea.
