Hendrix Genetics and Coraqua promote trout lodge egg production in Peru

Hendrix Genetics and Coraqua signed have joined a partnership, allowing farmers in Peru access to Troutlodge eggs. The first domestically grown eggs will be available to Peruvian farmers by November 2024. Thereby, elite troutlodge stocks will grow from egg to mature broodstock in Chichillapi, surrounded by high Andean area conditions.

"In the last two years, we've seen troutlodge eggs becoming even more popular in demand with the increased resistance to Bacterial Cold Water Disease (BCWD)," Keith Drynan, General Manager of Troutlodge, said. "This is a great step forward to increase the availability of our eggs to rainbow trout farmers worldwide. Also, shows our commitment to being at the forefront of a successful and thriving trout industry globally," added.

In addition, Jesus Jaliri Chambilla, General Manager of Coraqua commented: "The strategic partnership with Troutlodge will bring the first domestically produced eggs to the market in 2024; the year where we celebrate our 13th anniversary."

Finally, Rosa Huasasquiche Perez, Commercial Manager of Coraqua, concluded: "With troutlodge broodstock now being grown and spawned in our unique environment, our customers will have access to the high health, high-quality trout eggs they know from Troutlodge. Further, the added benefit of already being acclimatized to the environmental conditions of Peruvian high Andean during their whole life cycle."
