Profand Fishing Holding reached 800 million turnovers for the first time in 2021. This data represents a growth of more than 20% compared to the previous year. Also, the Spanish company achieved a total operating EBITDA of 74 million.
Through the Progress Report 2021, CEO Enrique B. García Chillón expressed how the company had to face the difficulties derived from the pandemic, putting ahead health, employment, and maintaining the complete operation of our production plants and our ships.
"At Profand Fishing Holding we have once again shown that we know how to work facing difficulties in our day-to-day activities. During this period, our employees responded to the challenges that arise and showed incredible sacrifices and great commitment. We trust in our people and in the resilience that has shown, accepting adversity as an opportunity to learn and improve," he reminded.
In addition, he noted the insistent commitment of the company to innovation. "As a tool for adapting to an
increasingly changing and competitive environment and for sustainability. Also, as the path that is necessary
travel to achieve a fairer society in balance with the limits of the planet," García added.
Finally, Profand has amplified its collaborations with other industry agents. "Only if we join forces and we support each other, we will be able to introduce innovative and sustainable processes that help us to address the great environmental and social challenges that we are facing," he concluded.
In this regard, Profand closed in March the purchase of a majority stake in Kefalonia Fisheries, a Greek company that specialized in the farming and marketing of sea bream and sea bass.
