Katie Sokalsky has joined Canadian company XpertSea as its new President and COO. With her financial industry experience, she will favor the expansion of the management team.
XpertSea has just launched a data-driven marketplace and financial services in Ecuador. Thereby, more than 10 million pounds of shrimp were traded in less than 10 months. A 50% month-over-month increase in new ponds registered on the trading platform, and 10x revenue growth from Q1 to Q4 2020.
So, Sokalsky will apply her experience to accelerate XpertSea's rapid growth in Latin America. Also, support the company's expansion of its business model to Southeast Asia and India.
Before, she was CFO and Head of Operations at Goldmoney Inc., a Toronto-based fintech. Among other duties, she scaled the company globally to 150 countries with over $2B on the trading platform. Besides, managing an acquisition, raising equity, and transforming the company public.

While she is no longer serving as CEO, Valerie Robitaille remains involved in the company: "I will continue to serve as XpertSea's Chair of the Board. I will work closely with our Chief Sustainability Officer, Roxanne Nanninga, to drive exciting new initiatives that will reward the shrimp industry for embracing good practices."
