The Norwegian water treatment company Sterner Group has new CEO. The Board has appointed Marta Rojo Alonso, who had served as CFO since August 2022. She takes over from Kim David Lid, who resigned earlier this week.

With extensive experience in the aquaculture sector in Europe, Asia, and Latin America, Marta Rojo has worked internationally for more than 25 years. She has held positions in large companies such as Mowi or Skretting, and the last one before joining Sterner Group was as CFO of Salmones Camanchaca in Chile.

It is precisely this experience that Arild Hustad, Sterner Group's Chairman of the Board, highlighted in announcing the appointment. "Marta has an impressive background and the right qualifications to lead Sterner in the group's ambitious plans to become a leading player in land-based farming internationally as well as maintain our strong position in Norway", he said.

Rojo, for her part, thanked the Board for its support in appointing her. "We have an exciting future ahead of us and look forward to making a strong contribution to the success of the company in the coming years", she stated.

In the appointment release, the Board also thanked her predecessor "for his significant efforts for the company's growth and development the last 10 years". Lid, who after consultations, agreed that he resigns from his position, effective April 12, said he is thankful for his years in the company and wished the Board, management, and all employees all the best going forward.

About Sterner Group

Since the early 1990's the focus of Sterner Group has been on water treatment. As water is a common resource and it is borrowed from nature, their goal is to return it to as pure a state as when they removed it from nature. They use several process technologies which they combine to develop sustainable solutions while focusing on clean and safe water.

The company, which recently signed a contract to become Fortum's new RAS supplier, delivers water treatment to four markets: aquaculture, municipal, marine, and industry. With more than 80 employees, Sterner Group currently has operations in the Norwegian regions of Ski, Grenland, Bergen, and Leknes.
