Peter Pan Seafood promotes Shannon Grant to vice president of human resources. After joining in March 2021, the company has recognized her work and dedication in contributions such as building robust and dynamic human resources, recruiting, and payroll departments.

"Shannon works hard to connect with employees at every level and ensure that every employee's voice is heard," said Kevin Bixler, Peter Pan CEO.

Therefore, in this role, Grant will continue to carry out one of the most valuable functions within the company, which is to hire and empower talented people. Although now from a more senior position.

Shannon's current tasks include visiting all Peter Pan locations. The objective is to meet the staff and further develop plans to support and attract qualified employees.

"I'm excited about where Peter Pan is going and I'm looking forward to working closely with the rest of the leadership team. [I want] to continue being strategic and building on the company's structure and the amazing team we have," said Grant.

Furthermore, this is a step forward for women in aquaculture, as it opens the way in a man-dominated industry. According to 2022 data from the International Organization for Women in the Seafood Industry, only 17% of executive and board positions are held by women. Shannon has increased the percentage, contributing to the growing presence of women in the industry.
