Aquaculture technology supplier Aquabyte is expanding its sales leadership as it looks to continue growing in its key markets, promoting Kamilla Svindseth to become Head of Sales for the North Atlantic, and hiring former ScaleAQ Norway Sales Director, Åsmund Håvik, as Head of Sales in Norway.

The new hires follow what CCO Thomas Fekete Rønningen describes as “a year of exceptionally strong growth" for the Bergen-headquartered company, which develops camera- and AI-based monitoring and decision-support systems for aquaculture.

"We expect this momentum to continue into 2026 and beyond. With Kamilla’s promotion and the addition of Åsmund to the team, we are strengthening our sales organisation to support this growth. We are very pleased to have Åsmund on board, bringing with him solid experience from the aquaculture industry,” Rønningen said, via a press release.

In her new role, Svindseth will be responsible for sales across Northern European markets outside Norway, including Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Scotland and Ireland.

“We clearly see that our technology is increasingly being adopted beyond our two largest markets – Norway and Chile. I’m both proud and excited to step into the role of Head of Sales – North Atlantic, and I look forward to spending even more time further developing the strong relationships we have with farmers across the region,” Svindseth said.

Meanwhile, Håvik, who brings extensive experience in the Norwegian aquaculture sector, including previous senior roles at Steinsvik and ScaleAQ, took up his new role on 2 February, focusing on the Norwegian market, the company said.

“Both I and the rest of the industry have taken note of the position Aquabyte has built within AI-driven decision support over recent years. The company is now clearly a leader in its field. For me, this represents a fantastic opportunity to work with one of the most important technologies in aquaculture – both strategically and in close collaboration with customers in Aquabyte’s largest market,” Håvik stated.
