Arctic Sea Farm subsidiary of Mowi-owned Arctic Fish focused on marine aquaculture, renews it operating license in Patreksfjörður and Tálknafjörður.

The Icelandic Food and Veterinary Authority (MAST) informs through its website about the renewal of the operating license for Arctic Sea Farm in Patreksfjörður and Tálknafjörður.
Arctic Sea Farm sent the request in December 2022 with a maximum biomass of 7,800 tonnes. Also, the procedure needed an environmental permit issued by the Environment Agency.
In its Q4 2023 report, Arctic Fish had already informed that the publication of the license renewal for 7,800 tons (MAB) at Patreks and Tálknafjörður, which MAST and UST announced in Q4, was expected to take place in Q1 2024.
Last month, MAST also granted the subsidiary of Mowi-owned Arctic Fish an operating license for 8,000 tons of salmon and rainbow trout in Ísafjarðardjúp.
The Icelandic fish farmer reported that 2023 was a year record in volumes and revenues and the closure of the police investigation into the fish escapes in Patreksfjörður.
Finally, MAST indicates that within one month from now, an appeal could be requested to the Environmental and Natural Resources Board regarding this decision.
