Brimer, a Norwegian company that offers clean water solutions, will once again supply its semi-closed fish cages for designer and producer of floating closed fish cage systems AquaFarm Equipment AS.
Brimer's fish cages are made with Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP), which reduces both the risk of escape and the environmental footprint. In this way, fish health, environmental impact, and operational efficiency are all taken into account.
With an inner diameter of 40 meters and an outer diameter of 45 meters, and a height of 26 meters, the fish grow in a spacious and stable structure. The entire system weighs 300 tons.
Regarding this, Lauritz Skeide VP Sales & Marketing at Brimer commented: "We have received the contract for the production of AquaFarm, which will be delivered to an international customer and assembled locally upon arrival. This is a great way for Brimer to showcase our versatility in product and delivery. This is a large and important project for Brimer and a significant step for the aquaculture industry in terms of future farming solutions and environmental emissions."
In addition, Aquafarm Equipment CEO Jarle Lønning said: "We are pleased to have Brimer on board again in this prestigious project for the future of aquaculture in the sea."
Brimer is one of Europe's leading manufacturers of corrosion-free solutions in composite materials, GRP. With these materials, it builds tanks, water tanks, farming vessels, protective structures, body parts, lighthouses, boat hulls, and composite sails.
