The Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade, Investment and Fisheries of Ecuador and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of Korea have signed the Implementation Agreement for electronic sanitary certificates for aquaculture and fishery products.
This initiative will streamline the electronic exchange of sanitary certification data and strengthen control and transparency mechanisms. One of the short-term goals is to eliminate the use of paper certificates, in accordance with international standards.
The signing ceremony was attended by Kim Yong Jae, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, and Daniela Paredes, the Undersecretary of Quality and Food Safety at the Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade, Investment, and Fisheries.
This agreement reflects both countries' commitment to strengthening cooperation, promoting mutual trust in sanitary control systems, and advocating for safe and transparent trade in fishery products between the two nations.
