Garware Technical Fibres Limited has presented Renew Ropes, the first 100% recycled ropes that reduce the carbon footprint by 50% and help trade associations and salmon-producing companies reach their sustainability standards.
According to the Indian company, the main characteristics of this product are useful life, density, weight, resistance to traction, fatigue, and abrasion. It can be used in the maritime, sports, fishing, and aquaculture sectors and is available in three and eight strands.
"The introduction of 100% recycled ropes shows our commitment to the Clean Production Agreement (CPA), circularity, and the reduction of plastic waste, contributing to sustainability throughout the life cycle of the products," assured Business Associate Garware Technical Fibres Chile, Marcos Jofré.
In addition, he confirmed that the Norwegian market is already using the Renew Ropes and Chile will do so eventually.
Also, Garware offers the X2 AQUA NEO solution, an anchor rope with a smaller diameter, high resistance, low elongation, and lighter weight.
"It is quick to handle, with lower installation costs and anchoring elements, easy to splice, and it reduces the load on the anchoring system due to its lower drag and weight," adds Jofré.
Both products obtained the Norwegian Standard 9415 (NS9415) certifications, which confirms that they work technically and meet the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) standard.
Prodalam distributes the ropes for the aquaculture industry in Chile. "We support the development of this Garware line, with large and small ropes at good costs and with a large stock availability for the salmon production regions," Aquaculture Manager at Prodalam, Alberto Pino, said.
