Norwegian aquaculture company Nordic Halibut AS has reported its results for the final quarter of 2025, reporting higher harvest volumes and sales.
The halibut farmer reported an average sales price of NOK 183 per kg (EUR 15.9 / USD 18.8) for its fish in the fourth quarter, in line with the same period of 2024. For the full year, the average price increased to NOK 175 per kg (EUR 15.2 / USD 18), up from NOK 167 in 2024, according to the company.
Quarterly sales revenue reached NOK 45.3 million (EUR 3.9 million / USD 4.7 million), based on total sales of 272 tonnes. This included 197 tonnes of fresh fish and 75 tonnes of frozen product, representing a 59% increase in volume year on year.
For 2025 as a whole, Nordic Halibut's revenue amounted to NOK 145 million (EUR 12.6 million / USD 14.9 million), up from NOK 90 million (EUR 7.8 million / USD 9.2 million) in 2024.
Total harvest volumes for the year rose to 847 tonnes, compared with 539 tonnes the previous year. The company said harvest weights also continued to improve, with the average fish reaching 6.6 kg (HOG) in the quarter, compared with 6.3 kg a year earlier, while biomass also grew during the quarter, with net increase of 11% compared with the previous quarter. Including harvested fish, total sea-based production reflected an 18% increase in biomass, Nordic Halibut said.
The company is constructing a new land-based facility in Torjulvågen, Tingvoll, and said progress continued on the site during the quarter. Nordic Halibut said the facility remains on schedule to become fully operational by 2027, in support of its long-term expansion plans, which target an annual production of 10,350 tonnes of halibut by 2031.
