The construction of Gran Mercado de Belén will be resumed and completed, according to Minister Sergio González Guerrero.

The Minister of Production in Peru, Sergio González Guerrero, has confirmed that $63 million will be allocated to improve the artisanal fishing and aquaculture infrastructure in the Loreto region, located in the northeast of the country.
Specifically, González explained that there is a budget of $47.7 million for the upgrade of the artisanal fishing dock and $15 million for the renovation of the Nuevo Horizonte aquaculture center.
"We are currently in the stage of preparing technical dossiers for both projects. We believe these projects will boost artisanal fishing and aquaculture in this Amazonian region," he stated.
Furthermore, the construction of Gran Mercado de Belén will be resumed and completed, a project that will benefit the entire region.
"We hope to have the technical dossier for the remaining work on the Gran Mercado de Belén ready by next December so that its definitive construction can resume in 2025," he assured.
Finally, the PRODUCE minister reminded the importance of the Centers for Productive Innovation and Technology Transfer (CITE) in the region. The CITE Productive Maynas serves 1111 productive units and the CITE Forestal Maynas up to 548.
In late April, the public organism also confirmed the allocation of $60 million for the maintenance and improvement of the Artisanal fishing ports (DPA) nationwide. PRODUCE will work to strengthen the management and administration of these infrastructures by artisanal fishing communities.
