Smir has partnered with a leading aquaculture company for the delivery of the water feeding system, Smirfeeder. It will be installed at two locations in production area 6 (PO6) of Norway, and will be capable of supplying feed to up to 12 pens rigged for deep-water operation.
According to the Norwegian online media iLaks.no, Smir Sales Manager, Frode Rygh confirmed it has been a seamless process leading to the agreement. He said it is gratifying to be able to contribute to streamlining the customer's feeding process while ensuring a solution that contributes to more sustainable salmon production for years to come.
For his part, in the same article, Smir's CEO, Øyvind Nymark, acknowledged that this is a very important agreement for the company, noting that it is a new customer for them in this field that has shown confidence in both their technical solutions and the team's expertise.
He also stated that this agreement can be seen as a starting point of a long collaboration not only in the feed strategy but also in the green shift strategy where, he believes, water feeding will play a significant role in the future.
Likewise, he noted that Smir is well positioned as a supplier of equipment and services to help its customers in another early-stage industry, deep-water operation.
