The pioneer in the commercial production of hatchable Acartia tonsa copepod eggs for marine aquaculture, CFEED, now has its expanded production facility in Vanvikan, Norway.

The new facility will triple the production of copepods, recognized as the optimal nutritional solution for fish larvae, offering superior growth rates, increased survival, and minimal environmental impact compared to traditional alternatives.

In early March, the Norwegian company announced its plans to invest in cutting-edge technology and sustainable production methods to meet the growing demand for natural, high-quality live feed solutions. Furthermore, the new production line adopts microalgae cultivation technology, that enhances sustainability.

"The opening of our expanded facility marks a new milestone for CFEED and the global aquaculture industry. Our technology and sustainability not only strengthen Norway’s leadership in marine innovation but also support healthier, more sustainable fish farming worldwide," said Tore Remman, CEO of CFEED.

Additionally, Linn Baardsgaard, Director of Sales & Marketing, said: "The major technological breakthrough in our new production line is how we produce microalgae in a more controlled and sustainable way. This allows us to maintain the exceptional nutritional profile that makes our copepods so valuable to hatcheries worldwide."
