Nordic Aqua Partners (NOAP) recently presented its operational update for Q4 2025 and FY 2025, in which the company reported a commercial harvest of 353 tons head-on gutted (HOG) for the quarter and a total harvest of 2,026 tons HOG for the entire year, meaning it has met its harvest guidance for 2025.

In line with its production strategy review announced in May last year, which focuses on larger fish, China's first commercial-scale RAS Atlantic salmon farm had reduced its total harvest guidance for 2025 from 2,300 to 2,000 tons in November.

As explained at the time, Nordic Aqua aims to achieve higher average harvest weights, around 7.0 kg LW, in order to secure a leading position in the growing Chinese high-end salmon market. In line with this strategy, the optimization of the number of fish in the facilities, which began in Q3 2025, continued in Q4 2025.

Thus, in the fourth quarter of 2025, Nordic Aqua's salmon reached an average harvest weight of 3.3 kg HOG, equivalent to 4.0 kg live weight (LW), with a superior rate of 93%. The superior rate was somewhat affected by the harvest of small fish.

Meanwhile, for FY 2025, the average harvest weight was 3.9 kg HOG, equivalent to 4.7 kg LW, with a superior quality rate of 97%. The company said that the average harvest weight is expected to increase gradually during 2026.

Successful fish transfer to the first RAS grow-out unit in Phase 2

In its operational update for the fourth quarter of 2025 and fiscal year 2025, Nordic Aqua Partners also reported production of 1,350 tons during Q4, bringing total biomass to 3,759 tons. Production for FY 2025 was 3,981 tons.

According to the company's statement, overall biological performance remained strong, with good fish health, no maturation, and high survival rates. NOAP thus closed a year that had begun with the news of the resumption of its sales, after an off-flavor problem at its RAS facility on Gaotang Island, Ningbo, forced it to halt commercial harvest in H2 2024.

In addition, as reported by WeAreAquaculture, on October 10, the salmon farming company successfully transferred fish to the first RAS grow-out unit in Phase 2. This milestone marked the completion of the first of four Phase 2 RAS grow-out units.

Nordic Aqua said now that transfers have continued during the rest of Q4 2025 into the additional grow-out RAS units and will continue during Q1 2026. The first harvest from Phase 2 fish, which was introduced as eggs in the third quarter of 2024, is expected in September 2026.

Finally, the Norwegian company operating in China announced that the full report for the fourth quarter of 2025 will be published on February 26, 2026.
