Proximar Seafood AS reported that during the fourth quarter of 2025, the Company had a standing biomass of 1,933 metric tonnes at its Oyama facility in Japan, up from 1,389 metric tonnes at the end of Q3 2025.
This is the tenth regular production update since the start of Atlantic salmon production at its Japanese facility in October 2022. Also, the report includes the harvested biomass for the quarter of 409 tonnes LW, resulting in a gross biomass growth of 953 tonnes.
On the other hand, December growth was affected by approximately 3.5 days of no feeding due to scheduled regulatory maintenance of the facility’s electrical systems. Even so, the survival rate during the quarter was 99.7% in the grow-out phase.
Regarding the average net sales price achieved in the fourth quarter, it was approximately 61 NOK/kg, and the average price was impacted by a higher proportion of below-market-size fish of 3 kg.
Finally, Proximar harvested 339 tonnes (HOG), bringing the total harvest for 2025 to approximately 1,338 tonnes HOG. Before an additional harvest of around 28 tonnes at the end of December 2025, the standing biomass was 1,961 tonnes.
"We are pleased to see the positive development through the quarter with stable performance and feeding levels now aligning with our production plan. We continue our efforts to increase the harvest size and expect this to improve as we move into 2026. The water quality remains good, and we see stable performance also at higher densities, which is encouraging," expressed Joachim Nielsen, CEO of Proximar.
In November, Proximar announced the appointment of Tetsuya Kobayashi as its new Chief Financial Officer, as the company continues what it describes as "a gradual and planned organisational shift of resources from Norway to Japan."
