US global software investor Insight Partners has invested in Norwegian aquatech company OptoScale to help with the development of its AI-powered platform that transforms millions of underwater images into real-time insights.

OptoScale tools ensure fish welfare, reduce costs, and optimize operations. Users can easily access the three available modules through a common portal via mobile, tablet, or computer and receive immediate, real-time analysis of fish conditions.

The Norwegian company also supplies the farming company Andfjord Salmon with its specific data collection technology. During 2024, both companies tested a pilot project to determine which specific technology to choose.

Regarding this investment, Insight Partners Managing Director Rachel Geller and Vice President Raja Atluri said: "OptoScale stands out for its deep understanding of fish farming and has created a technology that directly addresses many of farmers' most critical challenges. We’re excited to partner with Sven and the team as they scale globally and continue to shape the future of sustainable aquaculture."

Moreover, OptoScale published on its LinkedIn profile: "With Insight Partners' support, we're accelerating the development of our AI-powered platform that transforms millions of underwater images into real-time insights.
