Austral Fisheries has acquired a seafood processor Brisbane-based seafood processor and wholesaler, Moreton Bay Seafoods. This action will permit the Australian fishing giant to expand trading with East Coast suppliers. Also, to import and export a wider range of products due to the strategic location of the facility.

Moreton Bay Seafoods was founded in 1976. It is one of Australia’s most enduring seafood businesses with strong brand recognition in key local and international markets.

Japanese seafood giant Maruha Nichiro owns a 50 percent stake in Austral Fisheries, which it bought from Spain’s Pescanova in 2013. Kailis Fisheries owns the other 50 percent stake.
