Through a collaboration between Mowi (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and CP AXTRA Public Company Limited (CP AXTRA), the operator of Asia's leading wholesale and retail businesses, Makro and Lotus’s, the Norwegian company has established a dedicated salmon pin-boning facility.

This new plant is located within CP AXTRA's temperature-controlled Central Distribution Center (CDC) in Wang Noi, Ayutthaya, and integrates upstream processing directly into the company's advanced cold-chain infrastructure and smart logistics systems.

"By integrating production directly into our efficient distribution network, we enhance quality, consistency, and efficiency across the entire value chain, while accelerating growth in Fresh Food, Imported Premium, and Ready-to-Eat and Ready-to-Cook categories," assured Group Chief Wholesale Business Officer, CP AXTRA, Tanit Chearavanont.

Moreover, Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Mowi, Charlie Wu, noted: "By producing exclusively for Makro’s within its distribution infrastructure, we ensure that every salmon product is handled under the highest international standards from farm to customer."

Also, the integrated cold-chain and logistics model provided by CJ Logistics further enables real-time visibility, operational control, and same-day dispatch, while ensuring reliability and freshness throughout the entire process.

CP AXTRA's premium Aro Gold brand includes pin-bone-removed salmon trims for foodservice operators, as well as ready-to-use consumer products such as sashimi and skin-on and skin-off fillets. These products are available through Makro stores nationwide and the Makro PRO online platform.

Mowi has just confirmed it plans to almost double its capacity in closed sea cages over the next year, building on more than a decade of work with the technology. It operates more than one-third of Norway’s total capacity in this segment.
