Crab meat producer Blue Star Foods Corp. has confirmed a collaboration with KeHE Distributors, which will become its primary distribution partner and support its growth strategy. KeHE's extensive distribution network will also facilitate the launch of its 6-ounce crab meat pouch.
This new product features a clean label and keto-friendly formulation to meet consumer demands and concerns regarding health and sustainability. Also, its packaging is Eco-Fresh™ sustainable, reducing energy use, greenhouse gas emissions, and transportation footprint.
Furthermore, KeHE, which distributes natural, organic, specialty, and fresh products through 18 distribution centers and over 31,000 retail and online outlets, will facilitate national access and streamline ordering.
Regarding this partnership, Blue Star Foods CEO John Keeler said: "It allows us to better serve our retail partners and offer consumers innovative seafood products that align with their values and lifestyles."
Blue Star Foods first introduced the Eco-Fresh™ seafood pouch in 2003 and has since upheld the Triple Bottom Line (3BL) concept, meeting economic, social, and environmental priorities.
In March, the Miami-based company announced the creation of an Asian Food Division, which focuses on high-value sushi categories. Under the Blue Star brand, this product line responds to the growing popularity of Japanese cuisine, especially sushi and healthy food.
