
Both entities signed a collaboration agreement on Monday, January 20th, at the Temuco headquarters.
Universidad Mayor
The Universidad Mayor in Chile and the salmonid genetic specialist Hendrix Genetics Aquaculture, are collaborating to strengthen the training of professionals in the livestock industry in the South American country. They will focus on improving areas such as training, professional internships, and projects related to the sector.
"The joint work will include technical training for Veterinary Medicine students and internships through their open-door program, as well as the development of projects that address challenges in the productive sector, promoting innovation and sustainable development in the livestock industry," explained Fernanda Araneda, Director of the Veterinary Medicine program.
Additionally, Hendrix's General Manager, Rodrigo Torrijo, confirmed the potential for collaboration in biotechnology, engineering, and environmental sciences.
"It is important to partner with the productive world, as an international company based in the commune of Curarrehue, we can create a virtuous synergy based on their experience, turning it into a practice center for thesis students, faculty, and researchers," he emphasized.
